On October 17, Nors gathered its clients and partners in an elegant setting to mark the launch of the SDLG brand in Botswana.
The event, graced by the presence of Botswana’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Musi Kgafela, and attended by Júlio Rodrigues, CCO of the Nors Group and head of Nors companies in Southern Africa, signified the beginning of a new chapter in Nors’ mission to grow its clients’ and partners’ businesses in this market. The event showcased SDLG in Botswana, expanding Nors' operations into the construction equipment sector. With this new offering, the company now provides high-quality equipment, including wheel loaders, excavators, backhoes, and more, aimed at meeting the demands of local operators.
Held at Park 27 Restaurant in Gaborone, this event also highlighted Nors’ rebranding as a single brand across more than 17 companies, including Auto Sueco Botswana, now renamed Nors Botswana. Guests enjoyed a themed dinner that blended Portuguese and local cuisine, along with entertainment inspired by local culture and values.
Founded in 2006 with technical facilities in Gaborone and Francistown and with expanded operations in Maun and, more recently, Ghanzi, Nors began operations in Botswana as the official representative of Volvo trucks and buses, providing sales and after-sales support. With a commitment to growth, Nors today also represents Volvo Penta industrial engines and its own Vesper Energy Solutions brand of generators. As of 2024, the company has also added SDLG construction equipment to its portfolio, marking its entry into this sector and aligning with Nors' global strategy. This strategy is centered on its core business, where trucks, buses, and construction equipment are crucial to the group’s revenue.
